About EarthStones Australia

EarthStones Australia (trading as PJ Minerals) is operated by Jon Mommers. These terms apply to purchases made through this website.

Terms of sale

Specimens are one of one

Every specimen listed is a single, individual piece. Once sold, a listing is removed from sale and recorded in our Sold Archive rather than relisted. We do not hold or reserve specimens without a completed order.

Prices

All prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD) and are GST-exclusive, as EarthStones Australia does not currently charge GST. Prices do not include shipping, which is calculated separately — see our Shipping page.

Payment

Payment is processed securely through our store checkout. We do not see or store your full payment card details.

Shipping

We ship within Australia using Australia Post only. Full detail on rates, estimates and how final postage is confirmed is on our Shipping page. Orders over $100 AUD (goods total) are insured and require a signature on delivery.

Authenticity and returns

Our approach to describing specimens accurately, and how returns work, is set out in full on our Authenticity & Returns page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Use of this website

The text, photographs and descriptions on this site are prepared by EarthStones Australia and should not be copied or reused without permission. Specimen photographs show the actual item for sale, not a representative example.

Privacy

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you place an order, we collect the information needed to process and deliver it: your name, delivery address, email address and, where relevant, phone number. If you contact us directly, we keep that correspondence to respond to you and for our own records.

How we use it

Your information is used only to process your order, arrange delivery through Australia Post, respond to enquiries, and meet our own record-keeping and legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Marketing

The details you give us to complete a purchase — your name, address and contact details — are held only to the extent needed to meet Australia Post's delivery requirements and our own order records. We do not use them to send you promotional information. If you'd like to hear about new specimens, articles or releases, you can choose to join our mailing list separately; we will only send that kind of email with your explicit consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use this site. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personal information — it records only aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics, such as page views and visit counts, and cannot identify individual visitors.

Who we share it with

We share only what's necessary with the parties involved in completing your order — our payment processor to handle payment, and Australia Post to deliver your parcel. We do not share your information with anyone else except where required by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the services we use to run this website and process payments operate outside Australia — our website hosting provider stores data on servers located in Indonesia, and our payment processor, PayPal, may store or process information in other countries, including the United States. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate privacy and security protections.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Data retention

We keep order and correspondence records for as long as reasonably needed for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, consistent with our obligations as an Australian business.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first at earthstonesau@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it directly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time as the business and this website develop. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
