Dolomite from Teutonic Bore Mine, Ten Mile Outcrop, Leonora, Western Australia, Australia, measuring 77 × 55 × 35 mm and weighing 122 grams. This specimen retains a detailed locality attribution and a dealer connection in its provenance. The broad pale crystal-bearing face contrasts strongly with its dark matrix.

Dolomite is a calcium-magnesium carbonate, a distinct species within the wider carbonate family. Its composition offers a useful comparison with Calcite and with carbonates dominated by other metals. Familiar minerals become especially interesting in such a group, where their chemical relationships can be explored alongside locality differences and the characteristics of individual specimens.

Pale rounded crystal groups cover much of a dark matrix face, producing a strongly contrasting, uneven surface. Small sparkling points sit within the broader pale patches, so the specimen rewards both an overall view and closer examination. Leaving the darker margin visible in a display helps retain the natural outline and makes the carbonate development easier to appreciate. The provenance records the David Vince Collection and Capital Minerals. Those connections are retained with the piece, giving it a later collecting history as well as a geological source. For a Western Australian mineral collection, the specimen contributes a defined carbonate occurrence, with the mine attribution and individual measurements helping it remain distinct from other material bearing the same species name.
